We had a lot of fun at this weekend’s district event in Wake Forest at Heritage High School. We were the number 1 alliance captain and we had TerrorBytes and TMSA MechaTigers on our alliance.
We pulled off a finalist finish (2nd place) here and obtained the Innovation in Control Award.
We had a lot of fun at Heritage High and hope to see you all at UNC Pembroke for our 2nd district event on the 27th!
This week, we focused on final tuning of our robot and little mechanical changes here and there to ensure our robot was functioning properly. We rigorously tested our on-the-fly shooting system to ensure it was working properly and to see how fast a speed our robot could shoot at. Over the weekend, we also conducted driver tryouts.
On Thursday, we went to a demo at the Lenovo HQ in Morrisville along with 3 other teams to talk about FIRST, showcase our robots, and more. We had a lot of fun and the demo went really well!

This week was heavily focused on improving our shooter, specifically tuning it to make it more reliable and consistent. Additionally, we made progress on our expandable hopper, wiring, and autonomous, with some vision and pose tracking struggles.
We spent a large portion of the week tuning the shooter and testing the entire scoring system in a realistic setting.
This week, we continued programming and testing. We completely overhauled the wiring of our robot to make it neater and more organized. In addition, we significantly changed the design of several subsystems.
We added new rollers to the shooters and added an expandable “hopper” to the collector. We continued tuning the shooter and other subsystems.
We tested the whole fuel path (collector –> conveyor belt (transfer) –> indexer –> shooter) at 1500, 3000, and then 6000 RPM.
Also, we are currently in the process of designing our team T-Shirt. We currently have four preliminary designs.
We are still busy designing, building, thinking, trying, programming.

We re-built, again, the mechanism for moving the balls from the box to the shooter.
The chassis is done, collector installed, shooter in the works, and we are trying to figure out the climb.
